Another excellent heavy metal book. This book focuses more on specific movements of metal (ie. Early Metal, NWOBHM, Glam Metal, Black/Death/Thrash Metal and more). This book also features genre tabs with recommended albums for each genre. As well it talks a lot about underground metal bands as well as Mainstream.

Fargo Rock City: A Heavy Metal Odyssey in Rural North Dakota - By: Chuck Klosterman

A very entertaining book. This time the book focuses more on a Die-Hard metal fan's journey through heavy metal in the 1980s and 90s. This book focuses mainly on Hair bands And how much of America and himself perceived those bands. As well He does tell some very funny stories about his adventures through Heavy Metal.
