Van Halen
Origin: Los Angeles, CA, USA
Genre: Hard Rock
Description: One of Hard Rock’s biggest names. Many say they revived rock in the late 70s when disco was in full force. Eddie Van Halen’s guitar playing was extremely innovative for it’s time and made "tapping" a popular soloing technique which is still heard today in guitar solos. In 1984 when David Lee Roth left the band many said they wouldn’t go on but they joined up with veteran singer Sammy Hagar and released over five albums with him. They have conquered the world of metal and survived the trends of Disco, New Wave and Grunge. The band recently reunited with singer Sammy Hagar and released Best of Vol. 2.
